Field Experience and Co-creation Opportunities for Young Talents.

Through “Workshop 23,” TFS brought approximately 50 students into contact with aviation fuel operations. After observing these operational processes firsthand, the students translated their experiences into the design of a TFS-themed board game for children.

In collaboration with Academy 23, Turkish Fuel Services (TFS) hosted “Workshop 23,” an event that bridged industry expertise with the creative perspectives of young people. The program enabled students to gain direct insight into the technical proficiency, safety culture, and teamwork that underpin aviation fueling services.

Beginning at the TFS Vehicle Maintenance Workshop, the students received training in occupational health and safety before embarking on a tour of the apron. By observing aircraft refueling in action—from vehicle maintenance to on-site coordination—the participants gained a close-up look at the operational responsibilities that support flight operations.

In the second phase of the program, this field experience was channeled into a creative case study. The students developed concepts for a board game—designed for children aged 9 and older—that introduces them to TFS’s activities and can be utilized in educational workshops. These bespoke designs focused on translating complex technical processes into a gaming language that children can easily grasp and explore.

By combining observation, learning, and collaborative creation, the initiative offered young people the opportunity to develop ideas based on a genuine corporate need. At the same time, it fostered the emergence of creative approaches for conveying TFS’s operational knowledge to different age groups. The program concluded with a discussion in which TFS COO Uğur Uyan shared his experiences and insights with the students. The “Atölye 23” (Workshop 23) gathering fostered direct interaction between the industry and young people, creating space for knowledge gained in the field to evolve into new ideas.
