at TFS Port.

A comprehensive emergency drill at TFS Port tested response capacity, inter-agency coordination, and on-site operational effectiveness in high-risk aviation fuel operations.

A comprehensive emergency response exercise targeting major industrial accident scenarios was successfully conducted at TFS Port, the sole strategic port supplying Jet A-1 aviation fuel to Istanbul Airport.

Located north of Istanbul Airport, TFS Port operates as one of the most critical points in the aviation fuel supply chain with its infrastructure capable of serving vessels up to 125,000 DWT.

The exercise, based on realistic scenarios, tested the TFS teams’ response capacity, inter-agency coordination, rapid decision-making processes, and effective on-site operational management in the context of earthquakes, fires, and first aid.

The exercise was conducted with the participation of iGA Istanbul Airport ARFF, AFAD Istanbul Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate, Istanbul Airport Security Branch Directorate, Gendarmerie Protection Battalion Command, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality European Side Fire Department Germe Fire Station, and Arnavutköy Coast Guard Station Command.

This exercise, which tested procedures aimed at ensuring the continuity of life, environmental, and operational safety in high-risk aviation fuel operations, once again demonstrated TFS Port’s critical role in the uninterrupted fuel supply of Istanbul Airport and its level of preparedness for emergencies.

With its approach that prioritizes safety in all its operations, TFS is resolutely continuing its work in line with the understanding of sustainable, safe, and uninterrupted service in the aviation fuel supply chain.
