TFS Fuel Services has taken an important step towards the sustainability goals of the company and started supplying SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) to Turkish Airlines planes that fly from Istanbul Airport.
This important step that has been taken at Istanbul Airport is crucial within the framework of the CORSIA approach developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to maintain a carbon-notral growth for aviation companies. TFS’s existing refueling infrastructure is capable of matching any demands regarding SAF.

Sustainable fuel production in Turkey
TFS is procuring the current SAF from The Finnish company Neste. SAF, transported with containers and stored on TFS’s fuel farm, is blended with conventional jet fuel and supplied to aircraft. The construction of an integrated Sustainable Aviation Fuel production facility in Turkey, which is also part of TFS’s strategic plans, is already in the project phase. Preliminary work is being carried out with a Japan-based company for the project.
